Sels brief was fantastic to work on. As my track record with anything to do with Illustrator has been, well, dismal, I forced myself to sit down and experiment. For two or three days. The brief required Corvus to be Corporate, dignified but not stuffy or boring. Sel liked the idea of the use of script for type, but also wanted a very powerful image of a crow, in profile, with a murder of them flying around. I strongly suggested she choose either the typography as primary focus of the design or the illustration as it is very difficult to have them both together and make it work. Illustration it was, with the typography suitably restrained in Apple Garamond. "Corvus...a stella gathering." slogan with reference to the constellation Corvus. Somewhere, a glimmer of understanding snaked through enough for me to realise the picture I had in my head was one that was appearing on monitor. As briefs go, I think I may have nailed this due to a great and thorough brief written by Sel and feedback from Sel was that it was pretty much what she envisioned. Thanks.
